Day 1 Arusha to Tarangire National Park
6:00 AM: Pick up from hotel in Arusha/Airport.
8:00 AM: Enter Tarangire National Park.
Tarangire is renowned for its large herds of elephants, often seen bathing in the Tarangire River. Look out for other wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and occasionally cheetahs and leopards. With over 500 bird species, Tarangire offers excellent birdwatching opportunities. Keep an eye out for the vibrant yellow-collared lovebird and the striking lilac-breasted roller. The park’s landscape is dotted with ancient baobab trees and vast savannah plains, creating picturesque views throughout your game drives.
12:00 PM: Picnic lunch in the park
1:00 PM – 3:30 PM: Continue exploring Tarangire and spot more wildlife as you venture deeper into the park.
5:30 PM: Drive to your hotel in Karatu for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
06:30 AM: Early breakfast at the hotel
07:30 AM: Enter Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Descend into Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable morning game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to the densest population of wildlife in Africa, including the iconic Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, rhino). While fewer in number compared to Tarangire, the crater still boasts over 400 bird species. Keep an eye out for flamingos at Lake Magadi during the wet season. The crater’s unique ecosystem offers breathtaking views from the rim and diverse landscapes within, from open grasslands to forested areas
12:30 PM: Enjoy lunch at a scenic picnic spot within the crater.
1:30 PM – 3:30 PM: Continue your exploration of the crater, searching for more wildlife and soaking in the spectacular scenery.
3:30 PM: Ascend and exit the crater, beginning your journey back to Arusha.
